The Doom of Sarnath

from Under the Pyramids by Dig me no grave

/

lyrics

Ancient city stood on the place
Where Sarnath was established.
Inhabited by strange ugly beings
Grotesque city called Ib.

Great water lizard was their god.
They worshipped his stone idol.
But once humans came to their land
And ugly folk was cut down.

Doomed…
The doom that came to Sarnath
Annihilated town.
For blind cruelty of ancestors
Sarnath was doomed to lie in dust.

Eons after destruction of Ib
The sign of doom appeared.
Blasphemous feast was celebrated
Strong abuses were caused

Great water lizard, Bokrug's idol
Raised the ghosts from Ib's lake
Spirits of ancient ugly beings
Were finally revenged.

Doomed…
The doom that came to Sarnath
Annihilated town.
For blind cruelty of ancestors
Sarnath was doomed to lie in dust.
