Monk alone with the dead
Prayers above coffin all night long
For sins of the deceased

Dead witch returns from afterlife travels
Coffin begins to take off
Chalk magic circle defending the monk
But fear sneaks into his mind

Witch calls for evil ones:
“Come to me ghouls!”
Witch calls for evil ones:
“Bring here Viy!”

Ghouls lead their leader
Loud footsteps cut the silence
Enormous figure step into the church
With heavy eyelids closed
It came to monk’s circle
Witch flies around and laughs

Viy calls for evil ones:
“Raise my eyelids!”
Viy now sees frightened monk:
“There he is!”
